The mainstream practice of western medicine is focused more on what we call “triage medicine” – treating the immediate problem such as trauma, acute care and emergency medicine. Often the treatment methods are surgery or drugs, with little emphasis on looking at why and how these acute health conditions evolved in the first place.

There is a root to these chronic health issues; we just need the right tools and the right lens to see and tend to the root. Functional medicine looks deeper into seeing why and how these symptoms began, treats the root (cause or causes) and the branches (symptoms), and then focuses on preventing them from coming back.

The traditional western medical approach lacks the ability to treat and address complex and chronic diseases.

There are a myriad of factors contributing to chronic inflammation, debilitating fatigue, chronic pain, chronic digestive issues, anxiety, depression, chronic insomnia, hormonal imbalances during like PMS, painful periods, and spikes in inflammation and weight gain during perimenopause, menopause and andropause.

Additionally, there is little to no emphasis on genetics, environmental toxins, and food quality and how those factors influence our health.

When it comes to your health, environment, stress, food and water quality matter.

Your emotions matter. You matter.

Everything is connected. We’re not separate parts (neurology, gastroenterology, psychiatry, dermatology). Functional physicians look at your entire system as a whole and treat all of you (body, mind and emotions).

Functional medical physicians focus on patient-centered care.

Everyone deserves to have radiant energy, deep rest and feel at peace and free within their bodies. Functional medical physicians strive to help people thrive and live long and live well. Health is not just the absence of disease; it’s the ability to live a life feeling vital, strong, and full of abundant energy in all aspects of your life (health, career, relationships, life purpose).

Everyone has their unique story of how their health became imbalanced. With functional medicine, we practice deep listening and spend abundant time with you to help find your unique and customized treatment plan to getting you to radiant health.

We take into account your internal (mind, body, spirit) environment and your external environment (physical and social environment) into optimizing your unique treatment plan for optimal health.

Functional medicine doctors like myself are health detectives.

We use lab tests based on blood, stool, saliva, urine, and genetic testing to leave no stone unturned to getting to the roots of inflammation, disease, and pain.

Instead of waiting to intervene until your lab values are out of range (for example, wait and see until you have diabetes to treat blood sugar, or wait until you have hypothyroidism to treat your thyroid ), we focus on seeing trends in your lab work are suboptimal and support those aspects of your health with nutritional and lifestyle medicine, thus preventing diabetes and hypothyroidism from occurring.

We support your entire system with natural remedies to help bring your body back into balance and optimize your blood chemistry. Using this method of optimizing lab values leads to the prevention of the development of many diseases later in life – this is what we call longevity medicine.

Our goal as physician and partner in your healthcare is for you to feel amazing now and the rest of your life – maximizing your healthspan (the ability to live long and live well).

We can’t wait to meet you and help you achieve inner and outer radiance.

Dr. Amanda treats babies and children, ranging from newborns up to age 18 by combining heart centered collaborative holistic care for the whole family.

During a pediatric acupuncture session, Dr. Amanda uses tiny needles that most children do not feel at all and for 30 seconds at a time. For children who are afraid of needles, she utilizes Reiki and acupressure on the meridian and acupuncture points, a process that provides equal benefits to acupuncture with needles.

Alongside acupuncture, Dr. Amanda integrates Chinese herbal medicine, homeopathics, nutritional medicine, crystal medicine, cupping and functional medicine to support children's physical and emotional well-being. Parents appreciate working with Dr. Amanda because she is a team player in their child’s health journey and helps empower entire families to achieve radiant health.

Common conditions she treats are constipation, vomiting, common cold and flu, healing of broken bones (alongside western care) and sprains, allergies, headaches, bronchitis, pneumonia, insomnia, nightmares, sleep disorders, anxiety, depression, anger, and ADHD. She also works with newborns and new parents to help recover from any birth traumas.

In working with children, Dr. Amanda believes in validating children by letting them be seen and heard. Children enjoy coming to Source Point Wellness Center knowing they can see the beautiful fish tank, play with crystals and explore the magical garden.

Dr. Dawn Runge-Siminoff, D.C., MsN Dr. Dawn Runge-Simonoff (Dr. Dawn) was born in St. Louis, Missouri. She went to Truman State University for her undergraduate degree in Communications. After several years in the PR and event industries, Dr. Runge received an additional Bachelor’s degree in Human Biology, as well as her dual Doctor of Chiropractic and Master’s degrees in Human Nutrition from Logan University & College of Chiropractic.

After graduation, she spent two years in the Sub-Saharan African country of Namibia, where she helped establish a practice in an interdisciplinary medical building that was the first of its kind in semi-rural Rundu.

Upon returning to the U.S., she settled in Los Angeles and worked in the Silver Lake neighborhood. She refined her skills with additional training in prenatal chiropractic and biopsychosocial strategies for pain.

As we will remember for years to come, COVID brought big changes to most of our lives in 2020. For Dr. Dawn change came in the form of her September 2020 marriage and move across the city to Playa del Rey, where she lives with her husband Aaron and snappy little Chihuahua, Smokey. They welcomed a firecracker of a daughter, Seraphina, in January 2022.

She loves hiking & nature, traveling, reading, kitsch, fashion and (shh, don’t tell anyone) the occasional reality show.
